The Brief:

Owners Tim and Sally had been considering renovating their home for 5 years to accommodate their growing family. With a small block size of 450sqm, building up was the only option. Frampton Builders was tasked with the challenge of expanding their home while maintaining its unique character.

The Challenges:

During the project, several challenges arose. Firstly, the team had to keep the downstairs area dry as the roof was removed, despite Brisbane experiencing above-average rainfall. Additionally, the project coincided with a pandemic, resulting in soaring material prices and supply chain disruptions. The shortage of roofers due to storm damage in the western suburbs further complicated matters.

They also took great care in installing the Alpine Nail Strip cladding, a temperamental product, to avoid any imperfections.

The Result:

The end result of the Wakerley First Story Addition Project is a stunning designer masterpiece. The contrasting sandstone/gold colour bricks and monument Alpine Nail Strip cladding create an eye-catching exterior. Inside, the polished Hoop pine premium grade ply wood flooring adds a personal touch, perfectly complementing the white walls and black finishes. The dream master bedroom, complete with a spacious walk-in robe and luxurious ensuite, exceeds the owners’ expectations.
